Career Day

On Halloween Alexis and her classroom had a career day. Instead of dressing up for Halloween, they had to write a short report on community helpers and dress up. Of course Alexis was a teacher. She insisted on wearing glasses because grandma and grandpa wear glasses and they were teachers. She also carried a brief case because she claims that is what teacher's do. I don't know where she gets this from because the only briefcase I know of is the brown one dad had that lasted 43 years. Anyway, Sean went to watch her give her report. At the end she said she was going to be a teacher because they help us learn, and her mommy, grandma, and grandpa are teachers. Sorry Juli, Ken, and Aunt Karla I guess she does not realize you guys are too. Sean's cousin took a picture and sent it to us, so here is the future teacher. Watch out world because she is awful bossy and demanding, unlike her mother!!!!!!!!!

Halloween

We scored the day before Halloween, and got four pumpkins for $1.00. Alexis and Aliza had fun cleaning the pumpkins out. Alex said "ooooo gross," and did not do very much. He did make sure to tell that they were pumpkins now, but when we get done they will be jack-o-lanterns. He is so smart, but such a sissy. Amber came to help us, and Alex had her make his "wicked."

Alex was a Power Ranger, Alexis a witch, Aliza a lion (thanks to mom and garage sales), and Sean wore a scary mask. Everytime he put the mask on Aliza would yell "scary," and run away. This year, they were all tired by 7:30 and in bed by 8:30. Except for Alexis, because I had to do her hair, so she was in bed by 9:00. It was great, and they have already forgotten about the candy because it is out of sight!!!!!

Alexis and Mommy on field trip

Alexis and Alex go on a lot of field trips, and I have never gone with them. So I took a personal day and went with Alexis to Banner Marsh. It was so neat. The kids were allowed to go into the water ankle deep, and search for creatures in the water. My group caught three little toads. We then went fishing, and the science teacher already taught and practiced with the children how to bait the fishing pole, and cast it. We did not catch any fish, but did catch a lot of seaweed.

Youth Doing the Right Thing

Alexis and Alex were both nominated by their teachers for a program called Youth Doing the Right Thing. Alexis was the only on nominated in her class, and Alex was nominated along with another girl. Their teachers said they both show leadership, and are always helping out and trying hard. This means they do know how to act, but not when they are with their mommy. Alexis was also nominated last year. Well, the program was held in September at the Civic Center. Here are the pictures.

This is before we went in. I can not figure out how to rotate this image.

As you can see their names were posted on a poster with everyone's names. There were over 500 names on the poster.

Doesn't Alexis looked so enthused? They had to wait for 45 minutes before the ceremony started. I was actually on time, and should've been late.

They received t-shirts and bookbags.

This is Dr. Bussen, the principal.

Halloween

I am testing this out. This is one of five pumpkins we carved. Amber did this one, and Alex took the picture. More to come later. I know you are all in suspense!!!!!

The Blacksheep

I have always been very different than anyone in my family, and I have called myself the blacksheep. Sean was looking at Juli and Tim's Blogs and thought they were so cool. He told me to quit being the blacksheep and make one so grandma and granpa can see pictures of the children, and the wonderful things they do. So Soon, when I am done grading papers, doing lesson plans, writing papers for class, attending meetings, and doing all the fun things with kids, I will begin one. See you soon.

Sean, Jane, and the kids.
