I think Alexis is supposed to be Juli's daughter and not mine. She is always stressing about school. They have a spelling test every Friday at school and she stresses over the test. She has spelling homework every night, and has earned a 100% on every test. but still worries about the test. This past Thursday I gave her the test out loud, and she did fine. I looked at her and she had her hand on her head. I asked her what was wrong, and she said she still was not ready to take the test. She sat there for a minute and said, "Mommy I think I need to write my words 3x each so I can really be ready!" She sat there and wrote her words out, and yes she earned another 100. Well we all know Jane waits until the last minute to do any kind of schoolwork, and Juli spends hours studying. I guess that's why Juli earned that leather coat in high school and I did not. At least I know Alexis got a few good Kresl genes from her aunt Juli, and grandpa Kresl also. Thanks dad and Juli!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I had to go in and edit this post because my dad noticed I spelled genes as jeans. According to mom he was devastated. I would like dad to know that neither Juli, Tim, or Renee noticed it was wrong. Sorry dad, I was trying to do the post and handle three children that were supposed to be in bed. I do remember, "We are a walking talking chemical factory, and we run on chemical energy."
I was also corrected by Juli that she earned the leather jacket in 8th grade, but I'm sure she had straight A's in high school.

Alex, the brain, and the haircut
Alex really comes up with some crazy things to say. The other day he hit Aliza and I asked him why he did it.
"Alex, why did you hit Aliza?"
"Because!"
"Because why?"
"Because my brain told me to!"
"Your brain told you to?"
"Yes, (pointing to his right brain) this side of my brain moves my hands and feet what to do, and this side (pointing to the left side of his brain) tells my body parts what to do. This side of my brain is not working (pointing to the left side) so this side of my brain (right side) is just doing what it wants and it hit Aliza. I keep telling it to stop but it won't listen"
I don't know where he gets his sayings from, but all I could do is laugh and tell him to go to his room!
Then there was the famous hair cut. Alex decided to cut his hair. He took scissors and took out chunks of his hair. First he told us his buddy Bennie at school did it with a knife. Then he said he did it with scissors because he wanted a new hair do. Sean was not happy with Alex, so he got out the clippers and cut all of Alex's hair off thinking he would not like it. During the hair cut Alexis told him he forgot about pictures with the cousins and was going to look stupid. That did not seem to phase Alex. When Sean was done, he did not think Alex would like the hair cut. Alx looked in the mirror and said, "Thanks dad I always wanted a hair cut like yours." Sean was not happy that his punishment did not work, but thought it was cute. Mom on the other hand was mad at both Alex and daddy becasue the barber could've fixed it and it would've looked better.

Potty Training
I decided it was time for Aliza to be potty trained when she started to bring the diaper and wipes to me and say, "Change me mommy." I bought pull ups for Ms. Wilburn's, but at home I just put her in panties. She is now officially potty trained, except at night. Somtimes at night she does get out of bed and tells me she has to pee or poop, but she just enjoys running to the bathroom to act like she is using the bathroom. Usually she ends up in the living room asking me what I am doing. I am very proud of myself because Alexis and Alex were both three before they were potty trained. Aliza will not be three until May. Now that she is potty trained she also thinks she can get herself dressed. One day she put everything on, even her shoes. I thought it was amazing becasue everything looked like it was on correctly until later in the night when I noticed she had put her panties on inside out. Oh well, atleast I only have to buy diapers once a month and not twice a month. It's wonderful.
P.S. Uncle Tim better have that extra present for Aliza at Christmas like he promised

Grandparents Day
Grandparents day was in November! Mom and dad came over to see the kids, and Sean's mom also came. Dad hung out with Alex, and mom with Alexis. I think they had fun, and mom found out why Alexis is so bossy. Her teachers tell me she is the third teacher in the classroom, and they allow it. I also made it over to see mom and dad since I had not seen them in over a month. I took some pictures. Sorry mom I did not know you were not looking on the one with Alex.

Thank you to the wonderful grandparents for making the trips to visit th kids school. It really made their day.
Yellow Village Family Night
It has been a while since I have posted. I am very busy at school, ISU, and home. In Novmber we had to go to Valeska Hinton for family night. Everyone knows Jane does not cook, but she eats, so Ms. Wilburn whipped up a dish for us to take. Sean and Alex ate in his room, and Aliza and I ate with Alexis. Both teachers told us how wonderful our children are, and they wish they had more of them in the classrooms. One person even said now they know why the children are so cute, "THEY LOOK LIKE THEIR DAD!" I was very insulted but did not let it show. Now I know how mom felt when everyone would flirt with dad at DHS. Here are some pictures.

Career Day
On Halloween Alexis and her classroom had a career day. Instead of dressing up for Halloween, they had to write a short report on community helpers and dress up. Of course Alexis was a teacher. She insisted on wearing glasses because grandma and grandpa wear glasses and they were teachers. She also carried a brief case because she claims that is what teacher's do. I don't know where she gets this from because the only briefcase I know of is the brown one dad had that lasted 43 years. Anyway, Sean went to watch her give her report. At the end she said she was going to be a teacher because they help us learn, and her mommy, grandma, and grandpa are teachers. Sorry Juli, Ken, and Aunt Karla I guess she does not realize you guys are too. Sean's cousin took a picture and sent it to us, so here is the future teacher. Watch out world because she is awful bossy and demanding, unlike her mother!!!!!!!!!

Halloween
We scored the day before Halloween, and got four pumpkins for $1.00. Alexis and Aliza had fun cleaning the pumpkins out. Alex said "ooooo gross," and did not do very much. He did make sure to tell that they were pumpkins now, but when we get done they will be jack-o-lanterns. He is so smart, but such a sissy. Amber came to help us, and Alex had her make his "wicked."

Alex was a Power Ranger, Alexis a witch, Aliza a lion (thanks to mom and garage sales), and Sean wore a scary mask. Everytime he put the mask on Aliza would yell "scary," and run away. This year, they were all tired by 7:30 and in bed by 8:30. Except for Alexis, because I had to do her hair, so she was in bed by 9:00. It was great, and they have already forgotten about the candy because it is out of sight!!!!!

Alexis and Mommy on field trip
Alexis and Alex go on a lot of field trips, and I have never gone with them. So I took a personal day and went with Alexis to Banner Marsh. It was so neat. The kids were allowed to go into the water ankle deep, and search for creatures in the water. My group caught three little toads. We then went fishing, and the science teacher already taught and practiced with the children how to bait the fishing pole, and cast it. We did not catch any fish, but did catch a lot of seaweed.
Youth Doing the Right Thing
Alexis and Alex were both nominated by their teachers for a program called Youth Doing the Right Thing. Alexis was the only on nominated in her class, and Alex was nominated along with another girl. Their teachers said they both show leadership, and are always helping out and trying hard. This means they do know how to act, but not when they are with their mommy. Alexis was also nominated last year. Well, the program was held in September at the Civic Center. Here are the pictures.
As you can see their names were posted on a poster with everyone's names. There were over 500 names on the poster.

Doesn't Alexis looked so enthused? They had to wait for 45 minutes before the ceremony started. I was actually on time, and should've been late.
They received t-shirts and bookbags.

Halloween
The Blacksheep
I have always been very different than anyone in my family, and I have called myself the blacksheep. Sean was looking at Juli and Tim's Blogs and thought they were so cool. He told me to quit being the blacksheep and make one so grandma and granpa can see pictures of the children, and the wonderful things they do. So Soon, when I am done grading papers, doing lesson plans, writing papers for class, attending meetings, and doing all the fun things with kids, I will begin one. See you soon.
Sean, Jane, and the kids.
